هدف الاتحاد الأوروبي ومنظمة الأغذية والزراعة وشركة Paradise Foods المحدودة يكمن في تحسين فرص المزارعين أصحاب الحيازات الصغيرة في قطاع الكاكاو
بورت مورسبي/ روما – في إطار الجهود المبذولة بهدف دعم المزارعين أصحاب الحيازات الصغيرة وإنشاء سلاسل قيمة غذائية زراعية أكثر شمولاً في بابوا غينيا الجديدة، قامت المنظمة، التي تسهر على تنفيذ برنامج "STREIT" الذي يشترك في تمويله الاتحاد الأوروبي، بإشراك القطاع الخاص المحلي، في شراكة مع أعرق شركة وطنية لتصنيع الأغذية في البلاد، وهي شركة Paradise Foods المحدودة.ويتمثل هدف اتفاق مذكرة التفاهم الجديدة الموقّع اليوم في النهوض بسلاسل قيمة أكثر شمولاً واستدامة لإنتاج الكاكاو وخلق فرص لإدرار الدخل بالنسبة إلى المزارعين أصحاب الحيازات الصغيرة، عن طريق تحسين الجودة وتحسين النفاذ إلى الأسواق ووضع برامج لإصدار شهادات للمنتجات.

The 2020 International Seminar on Global Poverty Reduction Partnerships was held in Longnan city, Gansu province, China, on Nov. 24. More than 100 participants from governments, academia, international organizations, NGOs, and the private sector attended the seminar. High-level representatives from the UN, officials from developing countries in Latin America and Africa attended the seminar online.

23 November 2020, Rome/Sudan – FAO-China South-South Cooperation Programme has contributed 1.5 Million USD to a south-south cooperation project (SSC project) aimed at enhancing production, productivity and competitiveness of the crops and livestock sectors in Sudan. Agriculture accounts for nearly one-third of the national Gross Domestic Product and around half of the national workforce is engaged in agricultural activities that mainly includes crop, livestock, fisheries, forestry production, and agro-processing industries.
