The Cantón San Isidro educational complex, located in the city of Izalco, El Salvador, significantly improved the diet and eating habits for approximately 1 500 students since 2014. Previously, the children and the young people bought soft drinks, sugary drinks, and many types of sandwiches. The school garden did not receive much attention and the students understood little about the impacts of nutrition on their health. But this is part of the past.

The agreement marks the official launch of Phase III of the FAO-China South-South Cooperation Programme after China’s announcement of an additional $50 million in funding
Rome - The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has signed an agreement with the Chinese Government officially launching Phase III of the FAO-China South-South Cooperation (SSC) Programme. The General Agreement was signed by the Director-General of FAO, QU Dongyu and the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People’s Republic of China,TANG Renjian.

L’Organisation des Nations Unies pour l’alimentation et l’agriculture (FAO) et la Finlande ont signé aujourd’hui un accord visant à renforcer les capacités des pays en matière de gestion des données et des ressources forestières, notamment en Afrique. Le projet multidonateurs, d’un montant de 7 millions d’USD, sera mis en œuvre conjointement par deux équipes de la FAO: l’équipe chargée de l’Évaluation des ressources forestières mondiales et l’équipe chargée du suivi national des forêts. D’une durée de quatre ans, il est doté d’une contribution initiale de 2,3 millions d’USD apportée par la Finlande.
