The Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala (USAC), or University of San Carlos of Guatemala, is the national public university of Guatemala and the largest institution of higher education in the country. Founded in 1676, it is the oldest university in Guatemala and one of the oldest in the Americas. The university offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs across disciplines such as engineering, medicine, law, social sciences, humanities, architecture, economics, and natural sciences. Its main campus is located in Guatemala City, with additional regional centers throughout the country.
