The International Potato Center (original name: International Potato Center – CIP) is a research institution headquartered in Lima, Peru dedicated to improving the livelihoods of people through the sustainable use of root and tuber crops, particularly potatoes, sweet potatoes, and Andean roots. CIP conducts research on crop breeding, pest and disease management, climate-resilient agriculture, and sustainable farming practices. The center also supports farmers with training and knowledge transfer, aiming to enhance food security, nutrition, and economic development in Latin America and other regions of the world.
