National Institute of Fisheries Research (INRH)

Marruecos
The National Institute of Fisheries Research (INRH) is a public research institution in Morocco, focused on the sustainable management and development of the country’s fisheries and marine resources. Established in 1989, the INRH conducts scientific research on marine biology, fish stocks, aquatic ecosystems, and sustainable fishing practices. The institute plays a key role in policy support, resource management, and providing scientific data for the regulation and conservation of marine life. INRH also works on developing strategies for improving the fisheries sector, addressing challenges like overfishing, climate change, and marine pollution. The institute collaborates with national and international organizations to promote sustainable fishing practices and marine conservation.

Managed by the Director and administered by a Board of Directors, the INRH has several governing bodies. INRH's new strategic plan is based on an approach of adaptation and innovation that will enable it to integrate into its environment while anticipating the changes that the fishing sector in particular is undergoing.
