The Oceanographic Institute of the Navy (Instituto Oceanográfico de la Armada – INOCAR) is a public research institution operated by the Ecuadorian Navy, located in Guayaquil. The INOCAR conducts scientific research and monitoring of oceanographic and meteorological conditions, including sea level, tides, currents, and climate phenomena. Its mission is to support maritime safety, environmental management, and scientific knowledge in Ecuador’s marine and coastal areas.
