The Instituto de Nutrición y Bromatología (IMB) was a joint centre created in the 1970s. It was made up of the Department of Nutrition and Bromatology I of the Complutense University of Madrid and the Spanish National Research Council (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas – CSIC). The teachers of the aforementioned department and staff of the CSIC, both scientific and labor, belonged to him.

The researchers of this center, now extinct, moved to the Cold Institute, and, after the disappearance of the latter, the activity was distributed between the Institute of Food and Nutrition Science and Technology (ICTAN) and the Institute for Research in Food Sciences (CIAL).
