The creation of the International University of Ecuador (UIDE) was conceived by the educator, writer, journalist, diplomat and humanist Don Jorge Fernández Salazar. On October 21, 1992, the National Council of Polytechnic Universities and Schools (CONUEP) together with Marcelo Fernández Sánchez, founding chancellor, approved the creation of this study house, building the dream of building a space to train professionals who contribute to Ecuadorian and world society.
