The Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (USC) is a public institution for higher education and research, one of the oldest and most prestigious public universities in Spain, located in Santiago de Compostela, in the autonomous community of Galicia. Founded in 1495, it has a long academic tradition and plays a central role in higher education and research in northwestern Spain with the campuses of Santiago and Lugo.
