The Italian Society of Silviculture and Forest Ecology (SISEF) aims to:

Promote research and studies on the structure and functionality of forest ecosystems and their management, based on principles of sustainable development and conservation of biological diversity at the genetic, species, and habitat levels.
Promote studies in dendrology, timber arboriculture, and reforestation for economic, productive, landscape, and land protection purposes.
Encourage relationships between researchers, scholars of such studies, and local authorities responsible for land management and protection.
To facilitate scientific and technical collaboration in ecology and forestry at both the national and international levels.
To encourage the establishment of a similar European company with similar objectives.
SISEF carries out its activities through the following means:

Creation of thematic working groups on specific research topics of interest
Organization of conferences, symposiums, meetings, etc.
Sponsorship of Italian and foreign scientific publications
