Agroecology is a science, a movement of thought, and a set of farming practices. It defines the application of ecological principles to agriculture to ensure sustainable production and optimized quantity. Philippe Roudier, a researcher at the French Development Agency (AFD), presents here the possible applications of agroecology principles in West Africa and the Sahel.
