Organizers: IPC Working Group on FisheriesGeneral Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM)SSF Hub with support from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

The Small-Scale Fisheries  (SSF) Summit represents a true opportunity to promote dialogue among small-scale fishers and fish workers, key partners and decision-makers in advance of the FAO Committee on Fisheries (COFI) that will take place on 5-9 September in Rome, Italy.  The SSF Summit will take place over the course of three days, as follows:

DAY 1 (2 September 2022-by invitation) Led by the  IPC Working Group on Fisheries, this day will be an opportunity for invited representatives of small-scale fisheries organizations from around the world (both IPC members and non-members) to meet and engage in dialogue.

DAY 2 (3 September 2022) On Day 2, the event will be open to other stakeholder organizations, in addition to the small-scale fisheries organizations participating on Day 1. It will be an opportunity to share experiences and good practices. 

DAY 3 (4 September 2022) Space will be provided in the morning of Day 3 to small-scale fisheries stakeholders to hold informal bilateral and preparatory meetings in advance of COFI. In the afternoon, at 4 pm a dialogue and a reception will take place. In addition to the SSF stakeholders present on Day 1 and 2, the afternoon events will be open to COFI delegations, providing space for informal dialogue and exchange.
