The mobile phones and communication technology have come handy in access and spread of information. My cousin owns and manages a big farm, he regularly remains in touch with his 3 farm supervisors through mobile phone. He also remains connected with the market through phone and mobile internet. Th earlier system involved land phones which remained out of order for days, now with advent of new technology, information, market prices, inputs can be accessed easily. Like if somebody is not able to get good quality seed he can get in touch with the contacts in his circle for lookout to get good quality seeed as also othe rinputs. Same ways the disease and other info can be shared and solutions worked out. The communication makes contact easier and saves fuel. So the communication technology is touching livelihoods in an oblique way.
