Greetings to All,

I have no experience with drones but very interested in the technology because of the possibilities. The questions that are posted would help me to do research to further build my knowledge base and develop a project.

Hi,

I am in the same position as you. Drone can range from tens to thousands of dollars. It depends on what is yours goals you would have to spec it and research the pricing. You can research it online.

Hello Edson,

I think it is also wise before conducting any matter in a foreign country one should seek to understand the laws that govern the various activity, the Dutch researchers should know that. Also if you cannot make a direct recommendation to the Minister I suggest that you speak to your immediate manager that they escalate the matter. In an evolving and dynamic global village Mozambique should try to be on the cutting edge, to ensure that it can provide the much need support for developing its agriculture sector.

Forum e-Forum on ICTs and Open Data in Agriculture and Nutrition

What investments are needed to reap open data benefits and what measures must be adopted to protect farmers from open data?

Dear Muchiri,

In reading, I would like to promote your focus on the bottom-up approach, the use of traditional media, and ensuring that the rights of the farmers are protected. You also looked at the broader picture where all activity is taking place. We understand there is a need for policies and frameworks to be put into place, we are also aware of the length of time it takes to implement, moreover we are aware of the need to build human capacity and the aspects to be built.

Therefore we need to work with what we have in place, focus on not only building human capacity in term of technical but human right and legal knowledge so when the time comes for policies and framework the said grassroots can also make a meaningful contribution to it after it seeks to protect the rights.
