Hi Fellow Participants, My name is Sahdev Singh and I have been studying the role of ICT (a modern technology) in agriculture (a traditional technology) for the last 10 years. In my view, we need to explore ways farmers can use their mobile phones for their knowledge needs. While it is difficult to imagine that small-scale farmers will have internet ready computers any time soon, but many of them are buying mobile phones as demonstrated by rural telephony penetration. Now the big question is how we develop agriculture knowledge content that can be delivered through mobile phones, considering farmers' formal education level, language constraints, and other limitations. I think, a collection of success stories on such efforts will be good for experience sharing.
