I am very happy to be with the discussion of this hot topic.   I agaree with what the theme of the subject. The main thing we wish to establish is the transormation of technology from developed nations to the underdeveloped and developing nations.  In this regard, the CIMMYT has to take much initiative.  As I feel, the initiative in this issue is very less.  Let the international organizations taken into consideration of knowlege manaagement and technology transfer, as both of them are main research oriented aspects to enhance the efficiency of resources.

Hello, I am Dr. R. Shashi Kumar, Reader in Economics, Bangalore University, Bangalore, India, working on Agriculture and economic development. I wish to state that, there is a great concern at present about the importance of mobile in economic development. Many of us will immediately react that mobile is used for conversation or for communication. But, mobiles are economically the savers of time, promoters of efficiency, prime movers for develoopment and creators of demand-supply schedules ie., cost-benefit examinations. Hence, there is a lot of magnitude in using of mobile in the process of development, not only that relate to ecnomic, but also socio-cultural. Also, the rural areas, particularly in the developing and UDCs, there is a great need of understanding the economic base of mobile phones. Mobile phones, as I have already mentioned, should be seen as a major promoters of development, but not as a loss-making instrument of rural people. Let we discuss in the coming days about all these, step-by-step.
