The Conference on Management Advice to Reduce Cormorant Predation Impacts was held in Brussels, Belgium, on 3 June 2025, organized by EIFAAC and hosted by the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The event brought together 230 participants from 31 countries. The conference presented scientific and economic evidence on cormorant predation and discussed the second draft framework for a European management plan for the great cormorant.

The EIFAAC workshop on the problems and challenges of climate change, and its impact on inland aquatic resources and fisheries of Europe was held virtually on 8 April 2025. The workshop brought together leading researchers with the aim to examine how climate change is impacting inland aquatic systems and fisheries.

The 2024 EIFAAC Symposium as held in Pula, Croatia, on 7–9 October 2024. The symposium was held in conjunction with the Thirty-second Session of EIFAAC in Pula, Croatia. The symposium was hosted by the Government of Croatia and the University of Zagreb Faculty of Agriculture, and was attended by 120 participants from 24 countries. These proceedings contain the abstracts of most of the 55 papers and 23 posters that were presented.

Fish stock enhancement through formal stocking programmes was long recognized as an important tool to compensate the loss of productivity and diversity. Fish stocking is widely implemented across Europe and Central Asia to increase or maintain fish productivity. This report summarizes the main conclusions of a review of the benefits and impacts of fish stocking. It provides a framework to mitigate the negative impacts and maximize the benefits of fish stocking activities.

Inland fisheries are important in Europe, where the sector provides food, cultural and recreational benefits and contribute to maintaining biodiversity. The total inland fisheries production reported by European countries to FAO in 2021 was 167 187 tonnes and the average annual consumption of inland fisheries products in Europe was 0.24 kg per capita per year.

The Thirty-second Session of the European Inland Fisheries and Aquaculture Advisory Commission (EIFAAC) was held in Pula, Croatia, from 9 to 11 October 2024. The session was attended by 50 participants, including delegates from 28 EIFAAC Members and two observers.

The European Inland Fisheries Aquaculture Advisory Commission (EIFAAC) workshop on management advice for reducing the impact of cormorant predation on fish and fisheries was held in Pula, Croatia, on 8 October 2024. The workshop was attended by 78 participants from 24 countries. Seventy percent of the EIFAAC Members consider that a pan-European management plan for cormorants would be beneficial for inland fisheries and aquaculture.

The EIFAAC workshop on citizen science in fisheries was held virtually on 29 February 2024. It was organized by the EIFAAC Secretariat and Inland Fisheries Ireland. The workshop was attendedby 79 participants from 21 countries.

The Sixth International Carp Conference was organized in Szarvas, Hungary, on 31 August–1 September 2023. The conference was attended by 114 participants from 14 countries, representing a range of carp value chain stakeholders.
