Senegal's women oyster harvesters learn lifesaving swimming and first-aid skills

Around 20 women dressed in a multicoloured array of wetsuits and lifejackets stand in waist-deep water near Gandiol on Senegal’s Atlantic coast. Split into groups of two or three with an instructor, they watch intently as they are shown the basics of swimming. Then it's their turn to try the techniques themselves.
