Environment statistics - Data

Through its work on environment statistics, FAO collects, analyzes, interprets and disseminates data on fertilizers, pesticides and land use, irrigation, agri-environmental indicators, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and temperature change. Data are collected annually from national focal points in member countries through FAOSTAT questionnaires and disseminated on the FAOSTAT database.

Geospatial information is also used innovatively to derive environmental statistics when national statistics are not available. Data on SDG 2.4.1 (area under sustainable agriculture) are also collected for international reporting.
