
Fatiha Terki serves as the senior advisor to the Food Security Committee in Rome, currently on secondment from the World Food Programme (WFP). Throughout her career at WFP, she has held several significant positions, including Deputy Director of Operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Country Director in Senegal, Deputy Director of Nutrition, and Head of Global Partnerships, Innovative Financing, and Knowledge Management.
Dr. Terki is a medical doctor with a PhD in epidemiology and brings over 25 years of extensive experience in nutrition and food systems, HIV, and reproductive health. Her expertise encompasses program implementation, planning and evaluation, advocacy, policy development, partnership building, and resource mobilization. She has a particular focus on supporting nutrition policies and programs, having worked extensively to strengthen the capabilities of governments and NGOs.
She has been actively involved in various initiatives related to food systems and nutrition, notably as co-chair of the private sector network within the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) movement. Additionally, she participates in multiple UN agency networks and has served on the UNITLIFE Board of Directors. Dr. Terki has also contributed to the Japanese Government Nutrition Initiative (IFNA) and the Nutrition for Growth Summits.
Previously, she worked with the World Health Organization as a senior partner in the HIV department. Her experience includes collaborating with multibillion-dollar financing organizations like the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, where she managed critical funding for projects across several countries. She has also worked with an international NGO at both regional and international levels.
In her home country, Dr. Terki served as the national coordinator for immunization and family planning programs, further demonstrating her commitment to public health initiatives.
