My current work at FAO Food and Nutrition Division focuses on sustainable public food procurement and the interlinkages between the related policy and regulatory frameworks. It includes support to coordinate FAO's work on sustainable food procurement within the One Planet Network SPP Programme and other international platforms, the development of and contribution to FAO publications and guidelines, the provision of technical support for the design and implementation of sustainable food procurement and home-grown school feeding projects at country level (specially at sub-saharan Africa), as well as training.

Luana F. J. Swensson is a policy and legal specialist on sustainable public procurement. With 10 years of experience at the development field, her work at FAO’s Food and Nutrition Division includes support to coordinate FAO’s work on sustainable food procurement within international platforms, the development of FAO publications and guidelines on the topic, the provision of technical support for the design and implementation of sustainable food procurement and home-grown school feeding projects at country level (specially at sub-saharan Africa), as well as training. As academic background Luana has a Master degree in International Business Law and a Ph.D. in Economics and Business Law (Comparative Law) from the University of Rome “La Sapienza" and a multidisciplinary post-doctoral degree from the European University Institute (EUI).
