Running from March to November of this year, the campaign, entitled Mujeres Rurales, mujeres con derechos (“Rural Women, women with rights”), will highlight experiences, policies, innovations, strategies and statistics that show the advances, challenges and opportunities for rural women, particularly in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The campaign is based on the reflections of the Conference on Rural Women in Latin America and the Caribbean (Brasilia, 2014) and the XIII Regional Conference on Women (Montevideo, 2016), and aims to bring together national, regional and international organizations, as well as government bodies and civil society, to explore the current situation of rural women in Latin America and the Caribbean, emphasizing their rights and potential towards accomplishing the SDGs.
