Ce rapport a été établi suivant une approche participative impliquant les autorités nationales marocaines compétentes. Rédigé en juillet 2021, le rapport a été soumis aux autorités nationales du Maroc en octobre 2021 et a été révisé à plusieurs reprises en mai, juillet, septembre 2022 et finalement en octobre 2023, févier et juin 2024.

Marine litter - Assessing the distribution and impact of marine litter in Africa and the Bay of Bengal

The EAF-Nansen Programme has been running two studies on marine litter. The first study involved the recording of the litter retrieved in the demersal trawl, during surveys with the research vessel (R/V) Dr. Fridtjof Nansen, in the period 2011–2023. The second study examined the impact of marine litter on the beach seine fishery of four countries in the Gulf of Guinea.

This document is the final report of the Ninth Session of the Scientific Sub-Committee (SSC) of the Fishery Committee for the Eastern Central Atlantic, which was held in Nouakchott, Mauritania from 5 to 9 December 2022. The first day of the SSC was dedicated to a reporting on the EAF-Nansen Programme, its 2023 workplan in the CECAF region, as well as the discussion on the future of the programme.
