The virtual state of fishery and aquaculture industry briefings are a series of web stakeholder briefings and discussions organized under the project “Capacity Building for Sustainable Fisheries and Aquaculture Management in Central Asia” (Phase I - aquaculture and food safety) (FISHCap). The project is implemented under the FAO-Turkey Partnership Programme on Food and Agriculture (FTPP II) funded by the Government of the Republic of Turkey. Target countries of the project are Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

This webinar targeting Kazakhstan is the third one in the series of country based webinars to better understand the status of Fishery and Aquaculture Industry in five Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan. The main objectives of the webinar are to: (i) promote the involvement of the private sector in regional priorities, initiatives and platforms; (ii) create a platform for sharing industry information, examples of good practice, challenges, and identify business investment opportunities to promote sector development; and how good governance can be promoted; (iii) discuss the industry’s vision for building and supporting sustainable aquaculture and fisheries sectors.

The event targets key stakeholders of the fishery and aquaculture industries (i.e. researchers; fishers, fish farmers, representatives of fisher’s association and companies, traders, investors, etc.).
