30/09/2020 Rome/Ankara/New York- At the global event marking the first International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste yesterday, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and their partners urged everyone to do more to reduce food loss and waste or risk an even greater drop in food security and natural resources.

29 September 2020; Ankara- Fishery and aquaculture products are among the most traded food commodities worldwide. The growth in international fish trade has highlighted the need to harmonize fish safety and quality assurance approaches, with a view to ensuring fish safety and fair trade practices.  

21 August 2020; Ankara- Abandonment or un-utilization of agricultural lands is a common problem for many countries in Europe and Central Asia. Only in Turkey, about 2 million hectares of fertile agricultural lands are currently being abandoned and unutilized.  

19 August 2020; Ankara- Agricultural and food systems are undergoing dramatic changes worldwide, becoming increasingly globalized, concentrated, industrialized and science and capital-intensive. Rapid urbanization and increases in income levels are also driving changes in consumer preferences. 

08 July 2020 - FAO and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey organized a special session today with the Union of the Municipalities of Turkey as the part of the joint SAVE YOUR FOOD campaign.
