Accelerating climate action in agrifood systems needs a crosscutting approach. This roundtable between political, technical and youth representatives showcased ongoing actions to support the implementation of climate actions at global, national and local level.

GBEP Youth Award winner, Rakesh Godara, joined COP28  side event on energy and climate mitigation organized by FAO,the Italian Ministry of Environment and Energy Security, the United Nations Development Programme and Youth 4 Climate Action Project. Mr Godara presented his work on an innovative smart hybrid digester, which won him the GBEP Youth Award and the possibility to present his research in front of global audiences such as COP28 and the GBEP Bioenergy Week in Bangkok

The GBEP Youth Award recognizes the outstanding impact of young researchers in bioenergy. It is part of GBEP efforts to empower and involve young people in sustainable bioenergy.

COP28 officially refers to the 28th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

COPs take place every year and are the world’s only multilateral decision-making forum on climate change with almost complete membership of every country in the world.
