Bionergy and bioeconomy
Bioenergy plays a crucial role in bioeconomy, and it’s the most important bioeconomy subsector in many countries. To ensure its sustainability, it's essential to responsibly source biomass, improve processing efficiency, and establish supportive policies, considering local context and competitive uses of biomass In various bioeconomy sectors. Cross-sectoral cooperation allows for a deeper understanding of the cumulative impacts of bioeconomy and harnessing of potential synergies.
Through the “Bioenergy in the context of the broader economy” working group, led by Argentina and IEA Bioenergy, GBEP fosters dialogue and collaboration, and joint understanding in this context.
