FAO Elevate Program - Advanced Active Cooling Photovoltaic Panel Solar System

Marco Colangeli and Enrico Mandola innovated a solar energy system that solves three problems together. The active-cooled photovoltaic solar panels reduce evaporation of water by floating on the surface, while it is producing more energy with 20 percent more efficiency, and making more space for energy production, more affordable for local farmers. The models were tested and monitored, in time between August and December 2025. The concept now is scientifically approved, and ready to be implemented. Reduction of around 25 million cubic meters, the annual water loss from Jordan’s dams, is now possible.
