This scale-up note aims to raise awareness of the achievements of the FAO's partnership with the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM), while providing a concrete example of the Community-Based Field Placement Programme implemented to strengthen knowledge exchanges between rural communities and academia on innovative approaches to sustainable agriculture and rural poverty reduction and to develop capacities of the youth.

The collaboration between FAO and Ankara University is a strategic partnership that allowed to enhance national awareness on topics such as food security and safety, natural resource management and rural development while targeting Sustainable Development Goals 2, 3, 4, 13 and 15. Additional results focus on data collection activities for a resilience impact evaluation, and the development of FAO Turkey communication abilities.
