Food loss reduction innovations showcased at Expo Dubai 2020

The World Food Day 2021 was the first International Day to be celebrated on 16 October at Expo Dubai, which runs from 1 October to 31 March 2022. The UN Secretary General disseminated a message thorugh social media "the way we produce, consume and waste our food is a heavy toll in our planet ... the power to change is in our hands. Our actions are our future" in occasion of the WFD celebration.

Expo 2020 represents an extraordinary opportunity for the United Nations to engage millions of people and create lasting engagement, for action and impact. The UN presence at Expo will invite visitors to engage in the powerful story of the value of multilateralism through the celebration of International Days, thematic weeks and programming in the Opportunity Pavilion. World Food Day will be also celebrated in the UN hub.
