15th International LANDNET Workshop

05/06/2024 - 07/06/2024

The 15th LANDNET workshop will take place from 5 to 7 June 2024 in Middelburg, Netherlands.

The workshop is organized by FAO REU together with Kadaster and the Province of Zeeland in the Netherlands.

Land consolidation started in many countries in Western and Central Europe in the years after the First World War ended in 1918. In 1923, Poland adopted its first Land Consolidation Law, followed by Denmark and the Netherlands in 1924. After now a century of experiences with land consolidation in Europe, it is time to commemorate, take stock and based on the lessons learned discuss the way forward taking into account today's challenges. This will be the main topic of this year’s workshop.

Online discussion

As preparation for the workshop, we are also excited to invite you to participate in an upcoming online discussion hosted by FAO REU at the Regional Technical Platform on Green Agriculture on the topic:"After a Century of Land Consolidation in Europe – Taking Stock and Looking Forward".

As we reflect on a century of land consolidation projects in Europe, it is essential to evaluate the lessons learned and chart a path forward towards sustainable local food systems.

This online discussion seeks to gather insights from stakeholders across Europe to inform future strategies and policies.

Your valuable insights will be compiled and analyzed by the FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia (REU) to inform ongoing discussions and policy formulation.

Your insights will directly inform the agenda of the upcoming LANDNET workshop and contribute to the development of a comprehensive paper on this topic.

The online discussion will be open until 10 May 2024.
