Organization of the meeting of Working Cluster 1 on "Resilience and Climate Change Adaptation" coordinated by ESCWA and ACSAD

Under the Regional Water Collaborative Platform of the FAO-Water Scarcity Initiative, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the Arab Center for the Studies of Arid Zones and Dry Lands (ACSAD) convened the meeting of Working Cluster 1 on “Resilience and Climate Change Adaptation.” Opening remarks from both organizations underscored the importance of coordinated regional action to strengthen climate resilience in agriculture and water management.

A featured technical presentation by ACSAD provided an overview of climate-change data available across the Arab region and demonstrated practical tools for assessing impacts on agriculture and water resources. The presentation was followed by a Q&A session that addressed participants’ questions and reflections.

In the second part of the meeting, ESCWA facilitated an exchange on recent activities and participation in regional events, enabling members to share outcomes, lessons learned, and upcoming priorities.
