Agricultural Biotechnology for Resilient Food Systems 

ICGEB works in developing biotechnological solutions for agriculture to improve sustainability, food safety and food security. In parallel, we provide regulatory support to establish regulatory frameworks that can respond to global challenges. Among the innovations developed by ICGEB and partners in Member States and showcased at the booth are:

• Microbial inoculants for agriculture: improved drought, heat and salinity resistance; improved pathogen resistance and increased yield.
• Gene-edited crops for higher yield and improved nutrition 
• Integrated agricultural management practices
• Inoculants for food fermentation 
• Guidelines and regulatory documentation 
• Biomass valorisation: biofuels 
• Carbon capture with biomass technologies

A celebration of Cassava Root Flatbread, recognized by UNESCO as cultural heritage, in collaboration with different Member States. The exhibition highlights its role in sustainable food systems and offers innovative tasting experiences. 

Youth Food Lab 

The Global Youth Food Lab Incubator Programme supports young innovators bridging research to business. Through capacity development, mentorship and visibility, the teams transform research proposals into tangible and ready-to-scale business models. This year 11 teams from 9 countries of the Global South are working across the whole food system with innovative, problem-focused solutions for their communities.

We are pleased to unveil the Seeding The Future Global Food Systems Innovation Database and Network in partnership with FAO and to announce a new partnership with Welthungerhilfe (WHH) to host our annual $1M USD Seeding The Future Global Food System Challenge.

Youth empowering agriculture innovation 

This segment will be the stage for the GAC winning teams, from the past cohorts to the newly born 2025 cohorts, including 1 team from GAC 2024 and 4 teams of GAC 2025.  

The Scaling Coalition - an answer to large-scale uptake of agrifood innovations?

The Scaling Coalition is a global, multilateral initiative. It addresses collective challenges that no single organisation can solve alone, to accelerate the scaling and impact of agrifood and climate innovations, ensuring they reach those who need them faster, more effectively, and at lower cost. By working together, coalition members share knowledge, align strategies, and create synergies that maximize efficiency and impact. Current coalition members represent a cross-section of development actors comprising CGIAR (research), World Bank (international development finance), FAO (UN agency) and GIZ (bilateral development partner). The Gates Foundation, representing non-governmental foundations is currently considering an active membership. The exhibition will highlight vision and core operational principles of the Scaling Coalition.
