On the occasion of World Food Day 2026, global leaders emphasized the importance of effective innovation for the achievement of FAO’s enduring mission to end hunger and build resilient agrifood systems across the globe.
Nearly 1,000 students aged 9 to 13 packed into FAO headquarters on 15 October for Junior World Food Day 2026, with many more tuning in online.
Through sport, cooking and responsible fashion, the event showed young people how innovation and everyday choices can help build healthier, more sustainable food systems.

From 12 to 16 October, a week of culinary and educational events at the FoodS Lab marked the first anniversary of FAO’s Food and Agriculture Museum and Network (FAO MuNe).
Over the past year, the Museum has brought together people, stories, traditions and innovations from around the world, inspiring action for a better food future both within and beyond its walls.
