The 4th DASF is taking place under vastly different context than previous events as digitalization has marched forward to cover the whole economy including the agrifood and rural domains. The socio-economic context is also much impacted by the overlapping crises making the need to regain lost ground even more crucial and the demands for digital innovations within the agrifood system more needed than ever. The DASF 2023 overall theme is keeping up with the recent trends and entitled: “From solutions to ecosystem development: Scaling up promising digital innovations and lowering barriers to deployment and to persistent digital divide”. 

The 2-day hybrid event is planned on September 27 and 28, 2023 in Bangkok and will cover the following themes:

• Accelerate Agrifood and Rural Digitalization: from Ambition to Action 
• Share successful examples of Digital Agriculture Solutions
• Exchange on innovative Digital agriculture ecosystems development initiatives
• Soft launch of FAO Digital Village initiative Dashboard (New Knowledge Platform)
• Introduce Pacific SIDS Smart Islands initiative 
• Show case successful Youth entrepreneurship and agritech startups
• Discuss digital divide with focus on digital finance inclusion and gender empowerment
• Review successful initiatives for scaling up digital innovations 

The DASF 2023 will feature:  

• Government Senior Officials leading digital ecosystem development 
• Successful agritech startup founders 
• Agribusiness and innovation leaders and champions
• Successful men and women young entrepreneurs leaders and champions
• Digital experts, influencers, enablers and supporting agents

The DASF 2023 is co-organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).
