On 17 September, the Government fixed the price of a standard loaf of the so-called “social” bread for low-income population at UZS 1020 (USD 0.12). This type of bread is baked from first grade flour and weights 600 grams. The measure aims at stabilizing prices, which had increased from the previously-set price of UZS 650 (USD 0.08) to UZS 1200 (USD 0.15), after the Government liberalized it on 15 September. The price of UZS 650 (USD 0.08) was in place since the beginning of October 2014, when it was slightly revised upwards from the previous level of UZS 600 (USD 0.07).
