The 6th GSP Plenary Assembly was attended by more than 250 participants representing around 100 FAO member countries and over 40 other GSP partners.

Representatives from member countries and partners reviewed the progress made during the last year and discussed the work plan for 2018–2019. GSP-prompted activities, such as the organization of the past symposiums on Soil Organic Carbon and Soil Pollution, and the proposal for the next symposiums on Soil Erosion were debated and formalized. The communication campaign for World Soil Day 2017 – 2018 and the Glinka World Soil Prize award were reviewed and approved.
