This report presents the key achievements and the issues discussed during the sub-regional workshop on strengthening the legal frameworks for social protection in the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) and Barbados, co-hosted by OECS Commission and FAO (4-5 June 2014 – Saint Lucia).
The main purpose of the workshop was the validation of the study “Current state of social protection legislation in Barbados and the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States from a human rights perspective” that is the result of the commitment of the OECS and Barbados to strengthen their legal frameworks for social protection, also in the context of improved food security and nutrition.
