Press Conference: Launch of the 2016 edition of the OECD-FAO Agricultural Outlook

Sheikh Zayed Centre (FAO Headquarters)
04.07.2016
 Rome time

The OECD and FAO will present the key findings of their annual report offering 10-year projections of agriculture production trends. The publication notes that food prices in the future may be affected by trade, which has taken an increasing role in global food security due to the growing geographical separation of supply and demand, with only a few countries exporting the lion's share of many key food commodities.

The OECD-FAO Agricultural Outlook 2016-2025 includes price projections for cereals, oilseeds, sugar, cotton, meat and dairy products as well as biofuels. It also looks at the challenge of climate change and the strategic priorities for sub-Saharan Africa's rapidly-urbanizing population.

The OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría and FAO Director-General José Graziano da Silva will present the report during this Press conference.
