Apiculture Research Institute (ARI)

The Apiculture Research Institute was established in 1994 and still serves in the Campus area in the Dedeli district of Ordu City. It is the only research institute in the field of beekeeping in Turkey and covers the whole country. A total of 72 technical and administrative personnel are employed. The number of research staff is 36 and consists of branches such as Agricultural Engineer, Food Engineer, Veterinarian, Biologist, etc.

45 national and international research projects about monofloral and polyfloral honey, other bee products like propolis, pollen and royal jelly selection methods, bee health and diseases, breeding, flora, pollination and education were completed till now and 15 projects are ongoing. Universities, other governmental institutions, the private sector and EU representatives take part in these projects.
