Zveza gozdarskih društev Slovenije is a legal entity under private law, organized on the basis of the Associations Act. It unites forestry associations on the territory of Slovenia in order to pursue common interests. The basis for the association's operations is the Associations Act and the regulations issued on its basis, as well as the Rules of the Association of Forestry Associations of Slovenia, which were adopted by the general assembly of the association on March 25, 2015. Its main activity is the effort to form and develop a balanced and professionally based opinion on all the most important ecological, humanistic, technical, economic and organizational issues regarding the achievement of the agreed goals of forest management in the profession and the Slovenian public. An integral part of this effort is therefore:
– care for the popularization of forests and forestry,
– efforts to form and develop professional terminology and expression in forestry,
– efforts to know and promote the achievements of Slovenian forestry,
– publishing professional press – magazines and publications,
– participation in the formation of policy and regulations in the field of forestry,
– coordination of contacts of the forestry profession with other professions,
– cooperation with similar societies in other countries
– promotion of ethical behavior of its members in relation to nature.
