It was founded on March 8, 1985 , although its area had already been planned since the construction of Brasília . Initially planned in the Brasília Pilot Plan , it ended up in a preservation area in Jardim Botânico . It was the first Botanical Garden in Brazil with a predominantly Cerrado ecosystem .
