The Centre de Recherche en Agropastoralisme (CRAPast) is a public scientific and technological establishment with a sectoral vocation, created by decree no. 19-144 of 23 Chaâbane 1440 corresponding to 29 April 2019 and governed by the provisions of executive decree no. 11-396 of 28 Dhou El Hidja 1432 corresponding to 24 November 2011 laying down the standard statutes for public scientific and technological establishments.

The Centre is placed under the supervision of the Minister for Scientific Research. The centre's head office is located in the wilaya of Djelfa (Algeria).
