Gorgan University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (GUASNR)

Gorgan University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources, also known as Gorgan University, is a public university located in the historic city of Gorgan, in Golestan province, Iran. It was founded in 1957 as the Junior College of Forestry and Range Management and, over the years, it evolved into a specialized agricultural university. In 1992, it was officially upgraded to Gorgan University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.

The university offers various faculties, including animal science, agricultural management, fisheries and environmental sciences, food science and technology, forest science, plant production, rangeland and watershed management, water and soil engineering, and wood and paper engineering.

Gorgan University publishes several academic journals, covering topics such as aquatics research, lignocellulosic products, plant production, environmental resources research and poultry science.
The Gorgan University of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources strives to be one of the top universities in Iran in terms of scientific developments, developments in the theoretical and technological areas as well as maintaining its Iranian and Islamic identity. It ranks 1st Specialized Universities in Agriculture in the Islamic world (ISC) , and ranks in the 801 to 1000 in the world ranking (TIMES HIGHER EDUCATION Ranking).
