The Ruralia Institute (Ruralia-instituutti) operates under the auspices of the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry of the University of Helsinki and has units in Mikkeli and Seinäjoki. The Ruralia Institute offers high-level research information and innovation partnerships for rural development. The focus of our multidisciplinary work is the development of local communities, the renewing food chain and the sustainable utilization of natural resources.
