The Sociedade Botânica do Brasil(SBB) is a non-profit civil association that brings together botanists, students, professionals, amateurs, and supporters from all over the country and abroad.
The Society, founded on January 9, 1950, is a Scientific, Cultural, and Educational Association. Its purpose is to develop Botany and related sciences, aiming to expand knowledge about the Brazilian flora, encourage the training of human resources in Botany, and provide data, insights, and parameters for decision-making and environmental policies involving Brazil's various ecosystems and its vegetation cover.
