The Cilacap State Polytechnic (PNC) originated from the idea of the Regent of Cilacap, Probo Yulastoro, in 2006 to establish a vocational college aimed at improving the lives of the Cilacap community through higher education, in line with the district government's program to make Cilacap a pro-investment region. In 2007, the Dharmaning Kawula Cilacap Foundation and the Activity Implementation Unit Team (SPK) were established as recipients and managers of grant funds from the district government for the establishment of the polytechnic.
