Visayas State University (VSU)
At present the VSU System has 10 colleges, three institutes and one school. These are the College of Agriculture, College of Forestry, College of Veterinary Medicine, College of Engineering and Agri-Industries, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education, College of Fisheries (VSU-Tolosa Campus), College of Agri-Industrial Technology (VSU-Isabel Campus), College of Environmental and Agricultural Technology (VSU-Alangalang Campus), College of Education and Agricultural Technology (VSU-Villaba Campus), Institute of Human Kinetics, Institute of Tropical Ecology, Institute for Strategic Research and Development Studies, and the Graduate School. It also has an Open University which takes care of the distance education program.
The Visayas Socio-Economic Research and Data Analytics Center (ViSERDAC) is one of the emerging research units of the Visayas State University in Baybay City, Leyte, Philippines. Established in September 2017 because of a generous grant from the Department of Science and Technology’s Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD), ViSERDAC is one of the three research units of its kind in the country that were strategically located in three state universities to cover the super regions of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Under the Visayas State University system, ViSERDAC is currently part of the College of Management and Economics (CME). Since its establishment, ViSERDAC has been actively serving all the major regions in Central Philippines covering Region 6 (Western Visayas), Region 7 (Central Visayas), and Region 8 (Eastern Visayas). ViSERDAC envisions to be a leading socio-economic research and development center in the Visayas, Philippines.
