Pyrenean Institute of Ecology (IPE-CSIC)
España
The Instituto Pirenaico de Ecología (IPE) is a research centre integrated in the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), within the Natural Resources Area. It has two sites, one in Jaca and the other in Zaragoza, and its main mission is to contribute to the understanding of the functioning and structure of terrestrial systems and the organisms that inhabit them.
Within the CSIC framework, the IPE is distinguished by an integrative scientific strategy in terrestrial ecology and Global Change, with a dual holistic and historical perspective. Although research is carried out in mountain ecosystems, the work of IPE researchers extends to other geographical contexts in Europe, Africa, the Americas, and Oceania.
