The Universidad de Oviedo / Universidá d'Uviéu is the public higher education and research institution of the Principality of Asturias. With more than 410 years of history, located in the city of Oviedo (Asturias, Spain). The creation of the University of Oviedo was possible thanks to Fernando de Valdés, Archbishop of Seville. The academic institution was born under the patronage of King Felipe III, which was inaugurated in 1608. The University of Oviedo has seven campuses located in the central region of Asturias, in the cities of Oviedo, Gijón and Mieres.
